A Calling That Started With “Yes”
Light for Life began with a simple calling—to go where God leads and serve those in need.
In October 2015, during a mission trip to Bangladesh, we stood on a barren piece of land and prayed alongside local leaders who had a vision for something greater. That moment of faith became the foundation for everything that followed.
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” – Isaiah 6:8
By early 2016, Light for Life was formed with a mission to support vulnerable communities in Bangladesh—beginning with children in need of a safe and loving home.
Our Journey
2015 - 2016: The Beginning
What started as a vision quickly became reality.
- A nonprofit was established to support outreach efforts in Bangladesh
- A small one-room home welcomed 6 boys and 2 staff members
- The boys celebrated their first Christmas together
- A school was built on the property, providing education to 100 local children who otherwise had no access
This was the start of a growing family.

2017 - 2018: Growth & Stability
As the need grew, so did the mission.
- The home expanded to 10 boys
- Dedicated house parents and caretakers joined the team
- Clean water systems and sanitation facilities were installed
- A larger home was built to support the growing family
- Teams traveled to serve and support the mission firsthand
What began as a single room became a stable and structured home.

2019: Expanding Impact
The mission began to reach beyond the home.
- Dozens of individuals chose to be baptized
- Local churches began forming and growing
- School conditions improved with desks, benches, and supplies
- Another young child joined the family
Light for Life was not only providing care—but building community.

2020 - 2021: Crisis & Compassion
During one of the most difficult global seasons, the mission expanded in a powerful way.
- Hundreds of families were provided food during COVID-related hardship
- Partnerships with local churches helped reach those in extreme poverty
- 700+ families received food, clothing, and essential supplies
- A girls home was established, providing safety from sex trafficking
- Widow support began in the surrounding community
- Over 1,000 individuals were baptized, and 30+ churches were planted
In a time of crisis, the mission became a lifeline.

2022 - 2023: Continued Growth
The work continued to expand in both reach and impact.
- The homes grew to support more children
- Dozens of boys and girls were cared for and educated
- 25+ widows received ongoing support
- Flood relief efforts provided food and clean water to 200 families
- New clean water sources were installed for local communities
Every year brought new opportunities to serve.

2024–2026: Building for the Future
The mission continues to grow with a focus on sustainability and long-term impact.
- Construction began on a new boys home to support continued growth
- The ministry expanded to serve:
- 60 girls
- 12 boys
- 40 widows
- The first student from the boys home advanced to higher education
- Partnerships grew to include:
- 70 pastors and evangelists

The work is continuing—and the story is still being written.

Outreach on Bazua Island: Advancing the Gospel in a Remote Coastal Region
Bazua Island, located in the coastal Dacope Upazila of Khulna District, Bangladesh, is a remote and underserved area. Communities such as Laudobe, Bazua, Kolaganj, and Banisanta face significant challenges, including isolation, poverty, limited education, and frequent natural disasters. Many remain unreached with the Gospel.
Five years ago, with your support through the Light for Life Mission Initiative, an outreach ministry began on the island. By God’s grace, the work has grown steadily. Today, three local churches have been established, and four dedicated church planters are faithfully serving—sharing the Gospel, discipling new believers, and planting more churches among unreached communities.
As the ministry expands, there is a pressing need for a permanent Church & Discipleship Training Center in Bazua.
This strategic facility will serve as:
- A central place for regular worship and fellowship
- A training hub for pastors, lay leaders, and church planters
- A venue for discipleship classes for new believers
- A base for community outreach and evangelism
- A gathering space for youth, women, and children’s ministries
We believe this center will become a vital lighthouse for the Gospel, strengthening existing churches and helping reach more unreached people across Bazua Island and surrounding coastal areas—fulfilling the Great Commission in southern Bangladesh. Local believers donated the land. To build this center, we need $23,450.
